British government Adds an Extra £100 million to the Cash-for-Clunkers Programme
(16 November 2009)

In order to help supporting the British automotive sector, the British government has decided to expand the cash-for-clunkers programme: from now on, the car registered until February 2000 will be included in the programme awarding £2000 to purchase a new car. Until now, these £2000 were only awarded to drivers owning a car registered before August 1999.
The expansion of the programme will imply the investment of an extra £100 million for the government, and will help compensate the decrease in the sales of the British automotive sector.
